What is G.R.O.W.?
G.R.O.W. is our new church ministry program. It is both an outreach and an inreach program. It will incorporate sending letters and postcards, making phone calls, and going to visit potential members, inactive members, or members with a special need such as home-bound.
Why G.R.O.W.?
Many long-term church members will remember the days of visitation that included writing letters and sending postcards. During that time many more people participated in the Great Commission work of outreach. People of all ages came to church to encourage others and visited in homes to invite them to church. G.R.O.W. will return our church to those days and provide the opportunity to fulfill your Great Commission commandment.
Who can participate in G.R.O.W.?
All adults and youth of the church who have a desire to encourage others to be involved with the ministries of Harvest Baptist Church can participate. It only requires one night a month and will usually last a little over an hour (1 hour and 15 minutes maximum). That is only 15 hours a year.
How does G.R.O.W. work?
Our visitation programs designed to offer an opportunity to minister based on how comfortable you are sharing with others the love of Jesus. If you are very unsure, you can help us by sending cards or letters to absentees or potential prospects. If you don’t like face to face visits, but would like to share on a more personal level, you can help us by making phone calls. If you are confident or would like to go with someone who is, you can go on an actual house visit. No matter where you are in your spiritual walk there is a place to minister through G.R.O.W.
I thought visitation was every week. Is our church only going to visit once a month?
G.R.O.W. is designed to keep your commitment at a minimum. We will have visitation on every 2nd and 4th Monday night of the month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. However, an individual’s commitment is only once a month.
How do I get started?
Sign up for the week that best fits your schedule or talk with a G.R.O.W. team captain and join their team. As stated above The G and R teams will meet on the second Monday night of each month. The O and W teams will meet on the fourth Monday night of each month.
