What Salvation is NOT:
- Being a good person
- Church membership
- Baptism
- Association with a certain group or family
The Bible clearly states that no one will be saved because of his or her own personal merit or good works.
What Salvation IS:
Trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. What we realize and commit to:
…the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23b

Ephesians 2:8-9
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 3:23
III) God is merciful and does not want to punish us, but He is also just and must punish sin.

Exodus 34:7b
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:1, 14
All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned—every one—to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
